STORY OF AMBASSADOR KINGSLEY OBASOHAN

n the swirling corridors of international diplomacy and investment, few stories shimmer with resilience like that of Ambassador Kingsley Obasohan, the distinguished Director General of the European African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EACCI). His journey in recent months had become a tale whispered across boardrooms, debated in public squares, and distorted in the mouths of detractors who sought only to dim the brightness of his work.

The spark that ignited the storm was the historic MoU of $250 Million project deal signed between EACCI and the Edo State Government during the Edo State Global Investment Summit in Glasgow, Scotland; a defining moment that promised new streams of economic cooperation, development, and global partnership. Yet, where the forward-looking saw opportunity, a handful of naysayers saw only a chance to sow doubt.

They called him fake.

They labeled the partnership unreal.

They spread rumors like wildfire, weaving lies so boldly that even the unsuspecting paused to listen.

But truth, like gold in fire, does not melt. It only shines brighter.

Ambassador Obasohan did not raise his voice.

He did not fight the mudslinging with mud.

Instead, he let his work become his response.

And so came the moment that would silence the noise.

Yesterday, under the warm lights of the Global Homecoming Award Ceremony at the University of Benin, Ambassador Obasohan returned to Edo State, not in retreat, but in triumph. Walking into the hall filled with scholars, leaders, professors, and alumni spanning generations, he carried with him the unmistakable aura of a man whose purpose is bigger than the accusations hurled at him.

Before the eyes of the State, the University, and the Alumni community, he deepened the very bilateral relationships that some claimed never existed. He held discussions, exchanged commitments, and reaffirmed the cooperation between EACCI, Edo State, and the University of Benin; broadening the scope beyond government to academia and the global alumni network.

With every handshake, every conversation, every renewed step of partnership, he did more than strengthen ties.

He exposed the lies.

He shamed the liars.

He disgraced the politically charged rumor-mongers who had wagered their reputation on falsehoods.

Because nothing destroys falsehood faster than evidence.

By standing firm, by showing up, and by advancing the work, Ambassador Kingsley Obasohan proved a timeless truth:

When integrity walks into the room, rumor flees.

When purpose rises, hatred collapses.

And when truth stands tall, lies fall flat on their faces.

Today, those who mocked him watch in silence, confronted by the undeniable reality of his impact.

Today, Edo State stands encouraged by the continuity of a partnership meant to uplift generations.

Today, the University of Benin and its Alumni celebrate a renewed global connection.

And Ambassador Obasohan?

He simply keeps moving forward—calm, focused, and victorious.

For while lies make noise,

truth always writes history.
